The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sophie Hayes can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Wedding

Thirty-six years ago Rhonda and I were married in Kingsport, Tennessee,  a 10 hour drive from Connecticut.  Needless to say we weren't expecting anyone but my parents to attend.   Much to our surprise the car door opened and there were Aunt Sophie,  Aunt Franny, and Aunt Ann.  Their presence added a touch of home, and a New England flair to our wedding!  To top things off, this was a wedding that Aunt Sophie would never forget, because her luggage was stolen from a motel on the trip to Tennessee. Even this misfortune did not prevent her from adding joy and her own sense of humor to our wedding.   God bless you Aunt Sophie, and may you rest in peace.
