Visiting Mom in the Hospital

God Bless you, Aunt Sophie, and rest well in the arms of God.

I was so grateful for your kindness to our Mom-especially when she was in Hartford Hospital-first with her mastectomy, then years later as she was suffering with cancer.  You always took the bus, then walked the rest of the way to see her every day-regardless of the weather.  And it was cold and windy on many of those days.  Mom used to say she could tell when you were coming down the hall by the sound of your footsteps.  I hope you're all together up there having a grand old time!

I also remember when Michelle and I took you to lunch at Nordstroms at the West Farms Mall.  We had so much fun and I remember your infectious laugh.  You were all dressed up for the occasion, and we thoroughly enjoyed your company.  I hope you had as much fun as we did.

Rest in Peace, dear Aunt Sophie.  Love you!
