During the 2001-2002 school year at East Hartford High School, I was Men's personal assistant for the year. I had spent a lot of time in the Student Assistance Center the previous year, and had been doing volunteer work for various people and he approached me with the idea of working for him. He gave me a lot of responsibility and trust at a time when I was still figuring out what person I wanted to.be known for, and I am proud to say that he had heavy hand in shaping me. He was compassionate about all of the students, and knew how to bring out the true talents in the students he worked with. East Hartford High really benefited from his hard work and kind nature. He was always the tallest person in the room but was never imposing or intimidating. He was a joker and had nicknames for everyone, but he never teased maliciously. He was fair and honest, and always had my back. I am proud to have know him in my life. I wish there were more people like him, fighting to give our young people a chance to.succedd.
