Condolence: Dear Katherine, Ross and Paul. As you know, your father was our dear friend, and we only learned yesterday of his death. We were so fond of him and of you and remember you well as children. We all live in Ireland now so were not up to date on his life. We are so very sorry to learn of his passing and hope you will find comfort in knowing he loved you all so much. Leah and Eric

Condolence: Wayne and I worked at the Hartford Public Schools' central office in the 70's. In those years, he was a very funny, exuberant, spontaneous man who truly loved Hartford's children. He suffered through life's ups and downs, but his friendship never faltered. I have such wonderful memories of the many times he lifted my spirits and supported me in times of difficulties. We shared a friendship with my dearest, closest friend, Mildred Torres Soto. She will receive him in heaven with open arms. Rest in peace, you dear man. God bless.

Condolence: I met Wayne when I first came to Hartford to become a teacher in 1968 for the Hartford School System. We shared a love of children and soon connected at Charter Oak Community center. I will never forget our bus trip to the Apollo Theater in Harlem, where we chaperoned 60 teenagers from Charter Oak Terrace to see James Brown. And the experiences we shared just keep happening.
Wayne had a love for children as great as his love for God. He was a blessing to all of the children he helped over his long career in Hartford. He will be dearly missed by me.

Condolence: What can I say that hasn't been said? I do wish I made it to see him when he was feeling a little better. Family is family, the love is always there even if we aren't physically. He will have a chance to catch up with family and friends that we have lost over the years. It's so cute how my mom still calls him "Little" Wayne.

Condolence: I am deeply saddened to hear that Wayne passed away. He was my VP during my first four years of teaching at Burr. Truly, Wayne was a wonderful man to work with and a friend who I have thought of often. I wish so much I had been able to talk to him before he passed away.

I have only the happiest memories of working with Wayne. A true gentleman with a great sense of humor and a radiant peace in all of his words and actions.

Condolence: I'm sorry to hear of Mr. Williams passing.

He was my 7th grade teacher at New Park Avenue School. He was one of those teachers everyone liked. Very fun, hip, and many of the girls had crushes on him.

He know how to make classes interesting for the kids who wanted to learn and how to handle the disruptive "problem" kids as well. All with a smile on his face. Not an easy task.

He was one of those teaches that made a lasting impact on many of our lives. My condolences to his family.
