Obituary for Wayne Williams Jr.

Wayne C. Williams Jr., 74, returned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Wayne was born in Hartford, CT in 1941 to Sarah “Sally” (Claffey) Williams and Wayne C. Williams Sr. He worked in the Hartford Public School System for 35 years, one year in the Bloomfield Public Schools, and four years at Aetna Life and Casualty. He was also a member of the CT Army National Guard for six years. He was predeceased by his mother, father, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his children, Kathryn E. Williams, Glastonbury; Ross W. Williams, Glastonbury; and Paul M. (Margot) Williams, San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by brothers Donald (Dorothy), The Villages, FL; Kieran (Deborah), Wethersfield; Gregory (Sandy), Middletown; Brian (Diane), Granby and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends; as well as his special angel, Carolyn Manning, West Hartford. There will be no public calling hours. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10am in St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford. Burial will be private. Contributions in Wayne’s name may be made to The Intensive Education Academy, 840 North Main St. West Hartford, CT 06117 or St. Bonaventure Indian Mission & School, 25 Navarre Blvd, Thoreau, NM 97323.
