To all of Mary Anne's Family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have known all of you since I was a little girl. Your Mom and Dad were a big part of my Mom's life. She only had a few friends that she treated as her family. Mary Anne was also my younger sister's God-Mother. Your Mom and Dad were always smiling whenever they came over. She is now your forever Angel as she holds your Dad's and Luke's hands. My love and Prayers to all of you. Here is a picture of your Mom with all of my Dad's family at my wedding in 1981.

Well...Mary Anne...your passing is the end of an era...the last of the gang, the last of the friends of my parents, Marilyn & Joe Romano to go. The Skelly's, the Smith's, the Bisaccia's, - all names I heard my whole life. We grew up with their kids - almost more like cousins than my own.

Beyond that, I was fortunate to have represented Mary Anne (and her business partner, Albert) in many astounding real estate ventures. She was sharp, intuitive and courageous. Together they developed hundreds of building lots, condo units; they developed and flipped real estate the way most of us changed socks...a sharp business woman, for sure.

But she and Joe were always - family first...and friends, a very close second.
Mary Anne came from a different era - where friends could casually bring a pot luck dish to each other's house and make it a party. They camped together, laughed, ate and drank together, Harvey Wallbangers, I think (I never knew what that was, but I liked the sound of it). I always admired that group of friends and how they stuck together. They watched over each other's kids and I knew, if I did wrong, I'd hear it from 3 or 4 of them. You always knew they loved each other and by extension, they loved us.

Thank you Mary Anne for being a good friend to my parents and giving their young lawyer son a start in real estate law.
I hope you are with Joe, my parents, the Smiths and the Bisaccias and all of you are getting tipsy on Wallbangers.

Michael F. Romano, Esq.
