John was our colleague, mentor, and friend. He collaborated with us on our work to improve the educational experiences of those to whom he dedicated his professional life - youth in juvenile detention. He taught us and learned from us, making us better professionals. Though our relationship with him began as a professional one, it ultimately grew into a personal one, for each of us. We will continue to remember him through our work, our relationships with the juvenile detention system, and our memories of John as a person.

A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone's friend. In my heart a memory will always be kept, my brother I loved and will never forget. Hope you are enjoying your reunion with our family.
