William A. Wilson, 67, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Middlesex Hospital. Born, October 3, 1943 in Hartford, Bill was the son of the late George R. Sr. & Beatrice C. (Prutz) Wilson. He was raised in Glastonbury, graduating from Glastonbury H.S., Class of 1961, where he lettered in baseball. He was a United States Army Veteran serving our country during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 2009, he was employed for many years at Alpha Q Inc. in Colchester. Bill was a member of the VFW Post 0197 of Marlborough and the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. He enjoyed many past times; playing pool with his friends at the Glastonbury Senior Center, cards and the lottery. In addition, Bill coached girls softball for many years, lived to fish, to catch the “big one”, and most especially, he loved to drive and take car trips. Bill will be fondly remembered by his loving family; his daughter Suzette; three brothers and their spouses, Charles & Norma Wilson in Hemet, CA, James & Mary Wilson of East Hartford, Edward & Ellen Wilson of Glastonbury; and a close friend Jimmy Harding who was considered Bill’s other brother. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Wilson; and two brothers, George R. “Skip” Wilson Jr. and Patrick E. Wilson. Relatives and friends may call on the family Monday, August 1, 2011, from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. A funeral service celebrating Bill’s life will be held Tuesday, August 2nd at 10am in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, followed by interment in the family plot in Neipsic Cemetery, Neipsic Rd., East Glastonbury.
