Vincenzo “Vincent” Stocco, 79, of Wethersfield, devoted and cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully Monday, April 22, 2013 at his home. Vincent was the beloved husband for 43 years of the late Uliana A. (Gramuglia) Stocco, who predeceased him December 4, 2004. He was born March 30, 1934 and raised in Pianopoli, Provincia di Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy, the son of the late Antonio and Raffaella (Nicotera) Stocco. Prior to emigrating to America, Vincent proudly served as a Carabinieri (Italian Police) in Rome, traveling throughout Europe during his years of service. He married his beloved Uliana in 1962, settled in Wethersfield, where they raised their family. He was employed as a Foreman for the Superior Steel Ball Co, and was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church. Along with spending time with his family, Vincent enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Vincent will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family; two daughters and sons-in-law, Raffaella M. and Charlie Mauri Sr., of East Hampton, Diana R. and Richard Fritzson, of Marlborough; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven A. and Maria Stocco, of Wethersfield, David V. and Lindsay Stocco, of Plymouth, MA; a brother, Frank Stocco of East Hartford, a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Vincenzo Filippa, of Wethersfield; six special adored grandchildren, Christopher, Elisabeth , and Charlie Mauri, Chelsea and Zachary Fritzson, and Fiona Stocco; a great granddaughter, Gianna Zadroga; as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Stocco family on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. Funeral procession from Farley-Sullivan will begin at 10:30am, Saturday, April 27, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Vincent’s life at 11:30am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Interment will follow the Mass in Rose Hill Memorial Park (Section 17, next to Uliana), 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill.
