Obituary for Vincent A. Stifano Jr.

Vincent A.  Stifano Jr.
Vincent A. Stifano Jr., 90, of Wethersfield, CT loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Grandfather, passed away Monday Feb 22, 2016 at home leaving behind the love of his life for 60 years, Geraldine (Shea) Stifano. Born in Providence RI son of the late Vincent A. and Rose (Mercogliano) Stifano Sr., Vince served in the US Navy during WW II in the Pacific aboard an LSM (landing craft). After the war he attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He eventually applied his talents at Holo-Krome in West Hartford for over 25 years. Upon retirement he followed his heart to a second career, teaching drafting at A.I. Prince Tech in Htfd. Extremely talented, Vince could fix or build anything. He designed his Wethersfield home and designed and built the family beach house in Narragansett, RI. He also loved gardening and working around the yard. Besides his wife "Gerry" he leaves his sons Vincent A. Stifano III and wife Joy of Middletown CT, Michael S. Stifano of San Diego CA. and his daughter Gena (Stifano) Perodeau and husband Rene of Middletown. He is also survived by his loved and cherished grandchildren Jill K. Stifano and Vincent A. Stifano IV of Middletown. As well as his sister Angela McGinn and her husband James of Lexington MA, brother in-law Richard Scott of Albion RI and sister in-law Rosemary Shea of Concord MA. He was predeceased by his sister Ann (Stifano) Scott. Uncle Vincent loved his many nieces and nephews. Additionally Vince had many close long time friends. He loved spending time at the beach house with family and friends. The Stifano family extends heartfelt thanks to all of his care givers. Calling hours are Sunday Feb 28th 2016 from 2-5pm at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd Wethersfield, CT. 06109. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held to celebrate Vince's life and legacy on Monday Feb 29th 2016 at 11:00 am at St Pius X Church, 310 Westfield St Middletown, CT 06457. All attendees are asked to go directly to the Church on Monday. Burial with military honors will follow at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane Middletown, CT.
