Roland F. Snape, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Grace Theresa (DiMino) Snape, passed away, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Mansfield Center Rehab. Roland was born in Hartford, April 21, 1928, son of the late Roland Francis and Estelle Anna (O’Neil) Snape. He was a lifelong resident of the Hartford area. Roland was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. He was a Sheet Metal Worker for over 45 years with the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #40. Roland leaves a niece and nephew, Christine & Bruce McKechnie; a granddaughter, Meagan Flanagan. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 1pm in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section B), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. Roland’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roland’s name to the Shiners’ Hospitals for Children, PO Box 31356, Tampa, FL 33631-3356.
