Richard J. Curtin, 79, of Wethersfield, loving and devoted husband and father entered into the lords embrace, Thursday August 7, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Burton) Curtin for 55 years. He was born to the late Thomas H. and Margaret (Rourke) Curtin, May 26, 1929. He attended Immaculate Conception School and Hartford High School. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1950 to 1953. He served in the Korean Conflict with Dog Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Div. from May 1951- May 1952. Prior to his retirement as a photo engraver, he worked for Warner Murphy Photo Engraving and GIO-Graphics Inc. He was a member of the Hartford Elks #19, the VFW, Post 254 and the Hartford Moose Lodge. He loved spending time with his family and friends, golfing, skiing, and summers at the beach in Clinton, CT. He is survived by his loving wife Joan and five children; Nancy Wahrhaftig and her husband Doug of Newark, DE; Judy Ruimerman and her husband Frank of Wethersfield; Lori Crimmins and her husband Jack of Wayland, MA; Thomas Curtin and his wife Suzanne of Wethersfield; and Kathleen Curtin of Bensalem, PA and nine cherished grandchildren: Adam and Tracey Wahrhaftig, Jennifer and Jacquelyn Paquette, Carson and Maeve Crimmins, Christopher and Colin Curtin and Aaron Curtin. In addition, he leaves two nephews Robert and William Burton and a niece Linda Jaeger. Funeral Services will be held Monday August 11, 2008 9:00am from the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in the Church of The Incarnation, 544 Prospect St, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Village Cemetery, Marsh St. Wethersfield. Friends and relatives may call on the family, Sunday, August 10 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Funeral Home.
