Renato Fusco, 78, of Ludlow, MA, formerly of Wethersfield, husband of the late Aurelia C. (Susca) Fusco, passed away peacefully Monday, September 16, 2013 at Heritage Woods, Agawam, MA. Renato was born August 13, 1935 and raised in Naples, Italy. He was one of three sons of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Barbieri) Fusco. He emigrated to the United States, sailing to American in November of 1954 on the Andrea Doria Steamship, residing in Hartford until 1992, at which time he and his family moved to Manchester then to Wethersfield in 1994, where he resided until relocating to the Ludlow/Agawam area in 2011. Renato was employed for many years in the shoe repair business. He worked for Francolini Shoe Repair, then purchased the business, changing the name to Fusco Shoe Repair, which he operated for over 30years. After he retired from the shoe repair business, Renato was employed by the Town of Wethersfield, Board of Education, and the Wethersfield Police Department as a Crossing Guard. Renato will be fondly remembered by his loving family, daughter, Jacinta Fusco, of Windham; son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore and Vanessa Fusco of Ludlow, MA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Pio Fusco of Cromwell, Adriano and Katherine Fusco of Rocky Hill; eleven adored grandchildren, Joseph LaPointe, Daniel, Paul III, and Mikal Vik, Erica-Marie, Jiovanni, Julian, Jasmine, Marissa, and Anthony Fusco; along with ten cherished great grandchildren. Friends and relatives may pay their respects Tuesday morning, September 24, 2013 from 10-11am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Renato’s life will be held at 11:30am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section Y), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations are made in Renato’s name to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108.
