Obituary for Mildred V. Patterson

Mildred V.  Patterson
Mildred V. (Barter) Patterson, 89, longtime Wethersfield resident, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born, July 27, 1924 in Waldoboro, Maine, daughter of the late Ernest and Eudah (Herson) Barter. She grew up in Booth Bay Harbor, where she resided until the age of seventeen, at which time she moved to Connecticut. Mildred was a tireless employee of Catholic Charities where she devoted her time to the elderly and those unable to care for themselves. Her love and care of all animals, especially her two cats, brought great joy to her in later life. Mildred will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family; a son and daughter-in-law, five daughters and three sons-in-law, Patricia and Nick GeFrancesco of ME, Thomas and Pam Morrisey of CO, Nancy and William Burke, of FL, Lucille and Joseph Quinn of West Hartford, Pamela Meyer of Manchester, and Kim Prattson of East Hartford; in addition to many cherished grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mildred was predeceased by two much loved grandsons, Edward Koffman, and Christopher Tibbo. She will be remembered for her many acts of kindness and generosity to those in need. Her family will hold the memory of her love for them forever in their hearts. Friends and relatives may pay their respects, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 10 to 11am at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Tribute of Mildred’s life will be held at 11am in the Funeral Home with Rev. Deryk Richenberg officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family requests in lieu of flowers and that memorial donations are made in Mildred’s name to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
