Michael J. Ryan, 79, of Wethersfield passed away peacefully at home on Sunday (August 3, 2008) surrounded by his family. Born in Hartford on September 5, 1928, he was the son of the late Michael and Clarice Ryan. He was a proud veteran of both the U.S. Navy and Army, respectively, and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Michael was employed with Pratt & Whitney of West Hartford for 38 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Stella, his daughter Sharon, his Grandchildren, Traci and Mark, Mark's wife Karin, his brother Thomas, his sister Ann, Ann's husband Robert, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Michael is predeceased by his brothers, Harold and John. Michael's immediate family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all family and friends who have offered their care and support. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 12pm. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield. Burial will follow with military honors at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 580 Elm St, Rocky Hill.
