Mary Rose (McCafferty) Schiavone, 74, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Daniel T. Schiavone, passed away peacefully Monday, April 08, 2013 at home with her loving family by her side. Mary was born, September 14, 1938 and raised in Bronx, NY, daughter to the late Joseph and Catherine (Logue) McCafferty. She moved to Hartford in 1959, then to Wethersfield in 1973, where she and Dan raised their family. She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church, Hartford. Mary excelled at one of the most difficult jobs a person could have, putting her heart and soul into being a loving and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Along with her husband Dan, Mary will be fondly remembered by her loving family, her three sons and their spouses, Danny and Sue Schiavone, Jimmy and Jean Schiavone all of Wethersfield, Nick and Courtney Schiavone of Rocky Hill; nine cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Joey, John, Tyler, Robert, Brianna, Luke, and Vincent; two sisters Peggy Janos and Winnie Davey, a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Dawn McCafferty in PA; a sister-in-law Jeanette McCafferty; a brother-in-law, Charlie Wahler, all in NJ; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by five siblings, Patrick, Joseph, John, Katherine, and Jimmy. The family would like to give special Thanks to Winnie Davey, Mary's sister, who left her family and home to be her loving caregiver and be at her constant side. The family would also like to Thank her sister-in-law Jeanette McCafferty for her care and support the last few weeks. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the Schiavone family TODAY, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 4-8pm, and Thursday morning, April 11, 2013 from 8-9:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mary’s life will be held Thursday, April 11 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford, (all attendees are asked to go directly to the Church). Interment will follow the Mass in Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section #), 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT.
