Mary “Baba” (Paskov) Rolka, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, Thursday October 18, 2012 at Vernon Manor. Mary was born August 16, 1930, and raised in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Mate and Marsha Paskov, and the wife of the late Leo Rolka. Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed for many years with the American Red Cross. She had a great fondness for the beach, telling long stories, and hosting parties with her family. She loved trips to Florida, but most of all loved her grandchildren. Mary will be fondly remembered by her loving family; her son and daughter –in-law, Joseph and Sharon Rolka of Manchester, NH; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Cerins of Manchester; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kreso and Marian Paskov of Newington, Matthew and Gladys Paskov of Farmington; her sister, Lucy Pickett of Cromwell; a sister-in-law Ann Paskov of Newington; five devoted grandchildren; Matthew Cerins, Terese Cerins, Brady Rolka, Amy Wyman, and Adam Boroskas; four cherished great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Leo Paskov and brother-in-law James Pickett. Special thanks to the caring staff of Vernon Manor, the Visiting Nurse Association and North Central Hospice. Friends may call on the family on Tuesday October 23, 2012 from 9:00 – 10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mary’s life at 11:00am in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations are made in Mary’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter 2075 Silas Deane Hwy, Suite 100 Rocky Hill, CT 06067, or to Susan G.
