Obituary for Mary Lou Howley

Mary Lou  Howley
Mary Lou Howley, 77, of Wethersfield, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, August 23, 1937, daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Kelly) Howley. Mary Lou was a graduate of Bulkeley High School (1955) and the Fox Business School, Hartford. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the MDC and was a proud member of the 25 year club. Mary Lou is one of the founders of the St. Augustine School Alumni Society. She was a devout Catholic and had strong ties to her parishes, St. Augustine, Hartford and Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. She enjoyed bringing comfort, prayers and religious support to patients at St. Francis Hospital and Hartford Hospital as a Minister of the Eucharist. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by her only sibling, George Francis. She leaves her sister-in-law Sally (Smith) Howley of Old Lyme, her nephew and nieces; Brendan Howley, Mary Howley, Joan Delahanty, Anne Howley, Elizabeth Howley and their children, Mary Lou’s grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her loving family and extended family, mary Lou will be misses by all who knew and loved her, namely her cherished and beloved friends; Marianne Riccio, Mary Ann Miradie, Marion Fischer, Clare Murphy, Mary Welch, Virginia Culling, Geraldine Connors and Sally Collins. Friends may visit from 8:30 to 9:30 am Thursday April 3, 2014 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, Ct . A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Mary Lou’s life will follow at 10:00 am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Burial will be private. Mary Lou has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the LaSalette Missionaries, 85 New Park Ave., Hartford, CT 06106-2124.
