Mary Susan Chapman passed away peacefully, Monday, September 24, 2012, at age 90. She was born to William and Susan (Soden) Lonergan on January 31, 1922 in Hartford. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband of nearly fifty years, Frank, her brother William Lonergan, his wife Mary, and their son Daniel. Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong friend, Lucille Flannagan. Mary was a graduate of Weaver High School, and was the longest serving, most dedicated civilian employee of the City of Hartford. Proud of her Irish heritage, strong in her faith, Mary was generous to a fault. She was a true member of the Greatest Generation and the best aunt and neighbor a young family ever had. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family on Saturday morning from 9-10am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Interment will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section O), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
