Obituary for Marian Wynne (Slattery)

Marian (Slattery) Wynne, 90, beloved wife of the late Attorney Francis J. “Bob” Wynne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children Saturday, February 13, 2016. Marian was born July 22, 1925. She was born in Hartford, the daughter of Marshall and Marguerite Slattery, and a graduate of Bulkeley High School Class of 1943. Marian and Bob were married in January, 1951 and raised their family in Wethersfield. She was a long time member of Wethersfield Country Club and volunteer with St Francis Hospital Auxillary. She was also a long time communicate of Corpus Christi Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with many close lifelong friends. She was an avid bridge player, she loved to play all board games, puzzles and any activities with her family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family; Beth and Jerry DeRubbo of Newington, Kathy Petig of Wethersfield, Patty and Mark Silhavy of Vernon, Robert and Lara Wynne of South Glastonbury, John and Michelle Wynne of Hebron, and Kevin Wynne of Wethersfield, along with fourteen cherished grandchildren; Erin, Michael, Patrick, Marc, Josh, Casey, John, Chris, Andrew, Conor, Meghan, Delaney, Alexis and Kristi, and her great grandson Luke, and her older sister Jane Griffen of Old Saybrook. She was predeceased in death by her husband Bob, her brothers, John and Joseph Slattery and her sister, Glenna Bernard. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Marian’s life will be held Wednesday, February 17th at 10am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield(Attendees are asked to go directly to the Church). Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 34), 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. To extend online condolences and/or share a memory, please visit farleysullivan.com.
