Margaret M. (Blake) Kureczka, 80, of Hartford, died, Monday, July 13, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Margaret’s beautiful smile and warm green eyes will be sorely missed by her husband of 61 years, Edmond H. Kureczka, Sr. Margaret was predeceased by her parents John J. and Margaret (Sugrue) Blake of Hartford and her son Edmond H. Kureczka, Jr. of Hebron, CT. Margaret leaves behind six children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren including Gary E. Kureczka of Hartford, Kathleen Gold and her husband Richard of South Windsor, Kathy’s children Thomas John and Brian Adams and Blake Emerson, Andrea Kureczka of Manchester, CT, Rita (Burns) Kureczka (Edmond Jr.’s wife) and their children Alicia Jean and Edmond III of Hebron, CT, and Margaret Roy and her husband Steven of South Windsor and their children Elizabeth and Abigail, and Susan Green and her husband Steven of North Reading, MA and their children Sara and Samantha. Margaret leaves three great grandchildren Cynthia, Xavier and Blake Emerson all of New Britain. There are countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she brought so much love and joy. Besides being a wonderful mother and wife, Margaret worked for 20 years as a paraprofessional at Bulkeley High School, after which she enjoyed organizing retiree lunches for her coworkers. She was a member of the St. Theresa’s guild and exercised regularly with her friends at the Wethersfield Senior Center. Margaret had many wonderful friends; an avid Yankees fan she enjoyed cooking, watching Jeopardy and doing the New York Times and Hartford Courant Crossword Puzzles, racing to finish before her best friend and soul mate, Edmond. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 4 to 8pm at the Farley - Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, CT. The funeral will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 9 a.m. from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Ave, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield, Ave, Hartford, CT. Margaret’s family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Hartford Hospital Bliss 5 and 8 as well as the staff at the Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital.
