Maureen (Keddie) Kolaczenko passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. Maureen graduated from UCONN with an accounting degree followed by an MBA, all while raising her five children. She started her career as an accountant, business office manager for New Britain Memorial Hospital. Maureen then went on to work for St. Mary Home in West Hartford as the controller moving up to administrator for 16 years. She also served as administrator for the Jewish home in New Haven and at the Lutheran Home in Middletown. Her last position was St. Joseph’s Living Center in Windham, retiring in 2007. Every nursing home she worked at, she developed close relationships both professional and personal. There was great mutual respect with the people she worked with. Maureen was a member of the CANPFA. She served on the Board of Directors for the Lutheran Home. She also spoke many times at legislative hearings on behalf of the nursing home residents. Maureen was an avid reader and true Red Sox fan, and looked forward to her nightly televised games. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to relax and visit with friends and family. She had a passion for playing cards and boy, did she know how to play. Maureen was happiest when surrounded by her family and was a true inspiration for everyone. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Mildred and J. Douglas Keddie, her two sisters Sheila Keddie and Patricia Campbell and daughters’ Diane and Kathy. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 43 years, Dmytri Kolaczenko. She leaves behind her grateful and blessed children and their spouses, Robert and Traci Pinault of Avon, Cheryl Leahy of Clearwater, FL, Christine (Pinault) and Tim Hogan of McKinney, TX, Susan (Kolaczenko) and Peter Johnson of Wethersfield, and Mitchell and Dawn Kolaczenko also of Wethersfield. Her 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren whom she was so proud of are: Mark, James, Stephen, Justin, Thomas, Bobby, Danielle, Samantha, Sarah, Mitchell, Casey, Brian, Jessica, Jennifer, Alexander, Nicholas, Stephen P., Dmytri, Katie. She also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, sister and brother in laws that she had many wonderful and fun times with. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008, at 9 am from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Village Cemetery, 1 Marsh St, Wethersfield. Friends and relatives may call on the family, Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Funeral Home.
