Mahlon K. “Mike” Worcester, 67, of Torrington, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Wednesday (March 25th, 2009 ). Born in Calais, Maine, he had resided in CT since 1967. Mahlon had two Masters Degrees and was a retired school teacher from Maine, the Litchfield public schools, as well as The Gunnery. Mahlon was a European history expert, astronomy buff, staunch Republican and Boston Red Sox super fan! He was son of the late Douglas and Marjorie (Foss) Worcester, both of Columbia Falls, Maine. Mahlon will be remembered by his loving sister, Lenora Gregoire and her husband Jerry of New Hampshire, and his nephew Douggie Worcester III of CO. Mahlon was blessed with four children; Jeffrey and his wife Elizabeth of WI; Kimberly and her husband, Matthew of Rocky Hill; Scott of WI; and Benjamin and his wife, Lisa of VA. The light of his life were his seven grandchildren: Dylan 22 and his wife Emily, Erik 18, Ian 16, Kirstyn 12, Joshua 10, Ethan 7, and Briana 2. "Kiss the kids!" were often his favorite parting words! Mahlon was predeceased by his older brother Doug, his nephew Louis and niece Teresa. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of Mahlon's life TODAY, Friday, March 27th at 9:30 a.m. at First Church of Christ, 250 Main Street, Old Wethersfield, CT.
