Lucille (Ricupero) Mona, 97, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Mona, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2013 surrounded by her family at Maple View Manor, Rocky Hill. She was born March 22, 1916, daughter to the late John and Maria (Miano) Ricupero. She grew up in Hartford’s South End, where she attended local schools. She and Nicholas were married in 1940 in St. Luke’s Church, Hartford and spent 54 wonderful years together. She later retired from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. Lucille and Nicholas loved to travel around the world, spending many days/nights sightseeing, in addition to the many summers at the shore in Clinton. As a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, she dedicated her life to those around her. She enjoyed reading, cooking, entertaining family gatherings, knitting, and watching Yankee baseball with her family. Lucille was always there to listen, advise, and give a lending hand. There will always be a place in the hearts of her loving family and friends for her, and know that she leaves them with great love, devotion, and memories, that will be cherished forever. Lucille will be fondly remembered by her precious son James, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Ann Marie (Dignoti) Mona of Rocky Hill; the love of her life, her grandson Todd and his wife Kristin; her sister, Mary Kellogg of Berlin; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends/neighbors in the Rocky Hill area. In addition to her loving parents and husband, Lucille was predeceased by her son Robert; brothers, Sebatian and Nicholas Ricupero; and sister Gloria Golemba. The family would like to thank the staff of Maple View Manor for their expert care and concern, as well as services, recently provided by Masonicare Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Lucille and her family on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. Funeral procession from Farley-Sullivan will commence Thursday, September 26th at 9am, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lucille’s life at 10am in St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section R), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. The family request in lieu of flowers, and that memorial donations are made in Lucille’s name to St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton St., Hartford, CT 06114.
