Loretta (Fagan) Fox, 89 years old, resident of Wethersfield, Old Lyme and formerly Hartford, passed away on Saturday, the 3rd of August. She was born in Hartford on October 19, 1923 to the late Bernard J. and Mary (Nagy) Fagan. Loretta was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas A. Fox, Sr., and by her grandson, James Michael Fox Jr.. She is survived by her ten children and their spouses, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Nana, as she was affectionately known to her family, is survived by Thomas Fox, Jr. of West Norriton, PA, Geraldine Fox of Wethersfield, Mary Ellen Fox of Wethersfield, James Fox and his wife Kathleen of Old Lyme, their children and their spouses, Sean and Lyn Fox, Heather and Alex Olson, and Seamus Fox; Peggy Harding and her husband Chuck of Wethersfield, their children and their spouses, Colleen and Peter Lewandowski, Christopher and Sandra Harding, and Kevin Harding; Maureen Hennessey and her husband Martin of Naples, FL, their children Patrick, Michael, Jack and Daniel; Brian Fox and his wife Jane of Glastonbury, their children, Thomas and Michael; Marty Fox and his wife Annie of Charlestown, RI; Tricia Lilley and her husband Charlie of Wethersfield, their children, Connor, Casey and Bridget; and Lori Fox of Wethersfield. Nana also leaves her great grandchildren, Cooper Fox, Nora and Sam Lewandowski, Madeleine Olson and Maxwell Harding, who brought her great joy. Loretta is also survived by her cousin and her husband, Jeanne and Tom Collins of Vero Beach, Florida, brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Brendan and Maureen Fox and Maureen (Fox) and Joseph Hallisey, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved to visit with. Loretta also leaves her very dear friend, Kathleen Hokenson. She was a 1941 Bulkeley High School graduate and a graduate of The Hartford Secretarial School. She was a volunteer at St. Augustine School and South Catholic High School, where her ten children attended. For fifty years Loretta was active in The Saint Francis Hospital Women's Auxiliary, holding various offices, including President. She was a corporator of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Loretta was passionate about volunteering and giving back to the community. Loretta's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her caregivers, Tricia Thompson, Georgette Baker, Donna Loga and Kemoane Dawkins. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 7 in Saint Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford, CT. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave. Hartford, CT. Family and friends may call at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, CT, on Tuesday, August 6 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Loretta's name to The Saint Francis Hospital Woman's Auxiliary, c/o Saint Francis Hospital, 114 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
