In January 2012 I was working with Larry at the Pratt & Whitney CTC and an event occurred that was a sign of the apocalypse...Grote & Weigel was closing its doors and with that the end of Grote & Weigel liverwurst. Every lunch for weeks anyone who sat at a lunch table with Larry was informed of this impending tragedy, and the hunt for a viable replacement…FYI, there isn’t one. Finally, when it seemed as though Larry had resigned himself to a world without Grote& Weigel liverwurst a miracle occurred, G&W was purchased by another company and production of Larry’s beloved liverwurst would continue and all became right again in the world. Larry, I will miss your joy in life’s simple pleasures and your passion in pursuing those pleasures, RIP, my friend-love, Nancy
