Obituary for Laurie Soucy (Sirois)

Laurie (Sirois) Soucy, 57, of Newington.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2015, God needed another angel and called his daughter Laurie home. Beloved wife of Pete Soucy, Laurie peacefully passed away in Atlanta, GA while vacationing with her husband. Laurie was born January 27, 1958, was raised in Newington, and graduated from Newington High School, Class of 1976. She was one of five children to Olga Mary (Jacques) Sirois and the late Louis W. Sirois. A school bus driver for the Town of Newington, Laurie was an exceptional and loved part of the community, and thrived on the energy and affection of the kids she drove. An active person with a zest for life, she loved walking with the girls, feeding the ducks and spending time in the Rose Garden at Elizabeth Park. Besides her husband Pete, Laurie will be dearly missed and remembered by her loving family. Her two sons, Eric Soucy and Bryan Soucy, both of Newington; her two special angels, Eric’s fiance’ Heather Bondini and Kelly Vanegas; her mother, Olga Sirois of Newington; her brother, Wayne L. Sirois of Colchester; her three sisters, Donna Dargie and her husband Raymond, of Newington, Kathryn Murray and her husband John Ciccarello of Newington and Jacqueline Sirois of Colchester; her mother-in-law, Marie Soucy of Wethersfield; her two brothers-in-law, Ken Soucy and his wife Trudy of Hilton Head, SC and Paul Soucy and his wife Lois of Bristol; her sister-in-law Barbara Long and her husband Michael of Wethersfield; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Laurie was a truly inspirational and vibrant woman whose family was everything to her. Friends and relatives may visit the family on Monday July 13, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Celebration of Laurie’s life will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10 AM in the Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow the service in West Meadow Cemetery, 679 Willard Ave., Newington. To extend online condolences, share a memory, and/or light a memorial candle, please visit farleysullivan.com.
