Kathleen Mary (Mulcahy) Miskell, 28 of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Stephen M. Miskell, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012. She was born in Hartford, July 22, 1984, and was the daughter of James G. Mulcahy and the late Maureen (Hughes) Mulcahy. Kathleen was raised in Manchester, where she attended Manchester schools, graduating from Manchester High in 2002. She continued her education at St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2006. In addition to her work as a Para Professional at East Hartford Middle School, Kathleen was enrolled in Cambridge College, studying for her Master’s Degree to become a guidance counselor. She was very active her entire life. Kathleen was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford, the Irish-American Home Society of Glastonbury, an accomplished dancer and performer from age three, performing with the Duffy Academy of Irish Music and Dance, and The Mulcahy Academy Of Irish Dance through adulthood, competing in countless Feiseanna, along with performing in numerous volunteer performances at rest homes, schools, and community functions. While attending St. Anselm she gave unselfishly to the Spring Break Alternative Program, Habitat for Humanity in Jacksonville, FL, and Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Orphanage “Our Little Brothers and Sisters” in Honduras. Kathleen loved to cook and travel, especially to Ireland. In addition to dancing, she had a beautiful singing voice. Kathleen loved to socialize with her many friends, had a heart of gold, always had a house full of people, most especially during the October 2011 Storm where just about everyone she knew was invited. Kathleen will be missed dearly and fondly remembered by her loving family. In addition to her husband Stephen, the love of her life and, her father James, Kathleen leaves her beloved sister Erin Margaret Mulcahy of Manchester; paternal grandmother, Sarah M. Mulcahy; four uncles and three aunts, including her godparents Michael and Geraldine Mulcahy, Michael J Hughes, Winslow and Bridieann Runde, John P. and Deborah Mulcahy; four first cousins, Timothy and Kevin Mulcahy, Sarah and Julie Mulcahy; her mother in-law and father-in-law, Angela and Martin Miskell of Galway, Ireland; grandmother-in-law, Mary Miskell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David, Gerard, and Patrick Miskell, Kieran and Marie Lawless, Patricia Miskell and Daire Heffernan. In addition, Kathleen also leaves several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ireland along with a multitude of close, dear friends and acquaintances. She is predeceased by her paternal grandfather Thomas F Mulcahy & her maternal grandfather & grandmother Michael J Hughes & Margret E (Mulrain) Hughes. Family will receive relatives and friends at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, Friday, August 24th from 3-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Kathleen’s life will be held Saturday, August 25th at 11am in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Rd., East Hartford. The family requests all attendees go directly to the church. Internment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hebron Ave. and Wickham Rd., Glastonbury. Memorial donations be made in Kathleen’s name to the Kathleen Mary (Mulcahy) Miskell Memorial Fund, for the Spring Break Alternative Program, at St. Anselm College, 100 St. Anslem Dr., Manchester, NH 03102 and/or the Stephen Miskell Fund, c/o, Brendan McCann and People’s Bank, 47 Highview Ave., Wethersfield, CT 06109.
