Josephine Marie (Vigneron) Brooker, 101, widow of Edward H. Brooker, died Sunday, June 21, 2009. Born on December 28, 1907 to Joseph A. and Frances H. Vigneron, she was the youngest of eight children and called “Dolly” by family and friends. She grew up on the family farm in East Aurora, N.Y. and graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in Buffalo. She lived in White Plains, N.Y., Devon, CT., Norwalk, CT., and for thirty years in Wethersfield. Blessed with good health and an independent spirit, she walked to daily Mass at Corpus Christi Church for many years. Her last years were spent living with her daughter, Mary Clare Quirk and her husband, Bill in Old Wethersfield. She will be remembered for her beautiful gardens, needlework, Christmas cookies, and her kind and gentle manner. Besides her daughter, she will be missed by her grandchildren, Joseph W. Quirk and his wife, Kimberly of Somers, Suzy M. Quirk and her husband, Seth Walowski of Berlin, and great-grandchildren, Shane Walowski, Sammy Walowski, Clara Saige Walowski and Sullivan Quirk. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 25 at 10:30 am from the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Interment and graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 11am at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 575 Hillside Ave, White Plains, N.Y. Friends and relatives may call on the family Thursday, June 25, from 9am to 10:30 am at the Funeral Home.
