Obituary for John "Janek" Pietrycha

John “Janek” Pietrycha, 57, lifelong Hartford resident, beloved husband of Cheryl (Appleby) Pietrycha, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at home. John was born December 23, 1957 and raised in Hartford, son of the late Sophie Pietrycha. He attended Hartford Public HS and Ward Tech, earning his Associates Degree. He was a lifelong member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church and former President of its School Board. In addition to his wife Cheryl, John will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family, a daughter, Amber Nicole Pietrycha;; two sisters, Mary (Pietrycha) Smith and her husband Stephen and Janice (Pietrycha) LaPenna and her husband Louis; his mother-in-law, Ellen Fontaine; two sisters-in-law, Lisa Bolton and Laura Fontaine; two brothers-in-law, Mark Sabourin and Michael Fontaine; his nieces and nephews, Jason Smith; Sophia LaPenna and her fiance Tom Heslin, Sarah Ryalls and her husband Jeffrey; Sarah and Adam Richardello, Sherry, Jose, and Anthony Sabourin and Zion, Justice, Anecia and Michael Fontaine.. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Pietrycha family Friday, February 6, 2015 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 7th at 11am from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating John’s life at 12 noon in SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Ct, Hartford. Interment will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section ), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield.
