James Anthony McCormick Jr, 76 of Sebring Florida, formerly of Durham and Meriden passed away on October 2, 2008 at home after a short illness. Born in Danbury, he was the son of the late James and Katherine (Walsh) McCormick. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia (Breininger), their four children and their families. Diane & Tom Fitzpatrick of Wethersfield; Pamela & David Switalski of Weston FL; Jay McCormick & Constance French of Beaverton OR, Tim & Ivonne McCormick of Fort Myers FL. and his six grandchildren Katie Switalski; Eamon, Louisa & Bridget McCormick and Maggie & Alison Fitzpatrick and a cousin, James Benson of Meriden. Jim retired after 37 years with SNET Company, after his retirement, he was active with the SNET New England Pioneers. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 6th at the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday October 7th, in the Church of The Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield with burial to follow at Mica Hill Cemetery, Mica Hill Rd, Durham.
