Eva  Ayres (Lostocco)
Eva L. Ayres, 92, of Wethersfield, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Lostocco died peacefully on April 7, 2016, after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer and filled with the love of family, friends, and countless blessings and prayers. Eva was born and raised in Farmington and was a resident of Wethersfield for 63 years. Eva was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company, Edward Carvey, MD, of Wethersfield, and the town of Wethersfield Parks and Recreation Department at the Wethersfield Community Center. Eva was a dedicated and faithful employee throughout her career. Her interactions with the public led to many life long friendships that she treasured. Above all, Eva was devoted to her family and her faith. There was nothing in life that she valued more. Eva is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Thomas M. Ayres Sr., her daughter, Sharon (Jon) Hulse, her sons, Thomas M. Ayres Jr. and James Ayres, her granddaughters Sara (Michael) DiCicco, Meghan (Kevin) Millard, Samantha DaMotta, and her great grandchildren, Michaela, Jon, Ryan, and Julius. Eva is also survived by her sisters, Josephine Trombley and Barbara Hulse, her aunt, Amy Spirito, and her goddaughter, Sandra Winters, as well as many cherished family members and friends. Eva was predeceased by her brothers, Peter and Paul Lostocco, and her sisters, Mary Kron, Armine Battista, Louise Brin, and Jean Hackbarth. A special thank you to Holly Maurice, Dr. Salner, Dr. Schauer, and to Eve, Andrea, and the entire Hartford Healthcare Hospice at Home Team for their loving care, compassion, and companionship. Funeral services will be Monday, April 11, 2016, at 9:15 a.m.from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Village Cemetery in Old Wethersfield. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva’s memory may be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center Funds Development, 80 Seymour Street, P.O. Box 5037, Hartford, CT 06102.
