Obituary for Esteban Rodriguez

Esteban Rodriguez, 75, of Hartford, beloved husband of 50 years to Milagros Rodriguez DeJesus peacefully passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 in Hartford Hospital. Esteban was born January 1, 1941 and raised in Cayey, Puerto Rico, son of the late Jesus Rodriguez and Marcella Rodriguez Gonzalez. He resided in Hartford, where he was employed by the City of Hartford Public Works Dept. for over 40 years of dedicated service. Esteban was a devoted member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and served on the Church Vestry. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Esteban was the devoted father of Linda Rodriguez (Carlos) of South Windsor, Marylin Baez (Luis) of Hartford, Ivette Rizza of South Windsor; brother to Carmen Estrella of Brooklyn, NY; nephew to Francisca, Isidra and Cruz Gonzalez all of Cayey, Puerto Rico and Maria Gonzalez Rubio of Staten Island, NY; adored and loving grandfather to Isabella and Julianna Rodriguez, Anthony, Ashley and Melinda Baez, Sean Woods and Alexander Rizza; as well as the cherished great grandfather to Amariah and Leilani Baez. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Rodriguez family Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. The Funeral procession will form at Farley-Sullivan, Thursday, January 28th at 9am and will proceed to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 155 Wyllys St., Hartford for a Worship Service Celebrating Esteban’s life at 10am. Interment will follow the Worship service in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. The family requests in lieu of flowers and that memorial donations be made in honor of Esteban’s granddaughter, Isabella Rodriguez to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of CT, 20 Batterson Park Rd. # 302, Farmington, CT 06032 or to the Church of the Good Shepherd Music Fund, 155 Wyllys St., Hartford, CT 06106.
