Obituary for Eileen Tatro (McCooe)

Eileen (McCooe) Tatro, 92, wife of the late Charles J. Tatro, Jr. of Wethersfield, passed away April 2, 2015 peacefully at home. She was born in Hartford. Daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary (Kelleher) McCooe and lived in the area all of her life. Eileen was educated in the Hartford school system and graduated from Hartford Public High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at St. Francis Hospital. For many years, Eileen and her husband owned and operated C.J.Tatro Books, specializing in rare and antiquarian sports and physical education books. She leaves her two daughters, Barbara Tatro of West Hartford and Paula Tatro Butler of Ellington, her grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) Butler of Lee’s Summit, MO; Steven (Samantha Bragdon) Butler of Wethersfield; and Brittney (Daniel Brush) Butler of Vernon. Eileen also leaves her great-grandchildren Hailey, Ella, and Aiden Butler of Wethersfield along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Eileen was predeceased by her brother, Joseph P. McCooe, Jr., her sisters Mary (McCooe) Kenny, Gertrude (McCooe) Faulkner and her son-in-law George J. Butler, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Eileen’s life will be held Wednesday April 8, 2015 at 10:00 am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Eileen’s name to the American Red Cross, 209 Farmington Ave. Farmington, CT 06032.
