Moriarty-Laffin, Deborah Ann She fought as hard as she could, but on Thursday, October 25th at the too young age of 46, Debbie lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. She now is with her mother Barbara in Heaven. Debbie brought two beautiful girls into this world who she loved so very much and who now survive her: Amanda Laffin and Rylee Zavatsky. She leaves behind Rylee's dad, Brandon Zavatsky, her partner for the past 12 years. She is also survived by her sister, Michelle Moriarty, her father Bruce Moriarty and his wife Becky, stepfather John Bowen and wife Karen, stepmother Betty Ann Blazawski and Judy Zavatsky ("Mama Z"). She had many aunts and uncles who loved her: Ann Eaton, Eva & Joel Irvine, Pat & Bob Griggs, Bonnie & Gary Patterson & Maureen Buyak. Also mourning her, ex-husband Phil Laffin, stepsisters Alison Rapose, Meredith Pafumi and stepbrother John Bowen III, her many beloved cousins, including Tracy Furey and Laura Buyak, and the Zavatsky and Laffin families. Debbie had many friends, but among her closest was Debbie Bower, who was by her side in the good times and the bad. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by grandparents Lucian & Zofia Daum and uncles Roman Daum & Joe Buyak. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Siegel ("Dr. Bob"), nurse practitioner Marcia Caruso-Bergman and nurse Donna Rioux at the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center for doing everything they could for Debbie. And special thanks to Ashley Davila, Susan Smith and all of Debbie's nurses and PCAs on Hartford Hospital's CB2 for their compassionate care. Debbie loved going to the beach, taking road trips, tailgating and occasionally even making into the concerts. She took pictures of everything. She lived life and laughed often. And that laugh will be with her friends and loved ones forever. In her final days, Debbie was able to create memories with her girls during a trip to Disney World that was made possible by the Ron Foley Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (ronsrun.org). It was Debbie's wish that any donations in her memory be made to this wonderful organization (1000 Farmington Avenue, Suite 108A, West Hartford, CT 06107). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday October 29, 2012 at 10:00 am in St Patrick-St. Anthony Church 285 Church St, Hartford. All are asked to go directly to church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home,34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield, Ct Sunday October 28, from 4-7 pm.
