Dan L. Culver, 88, husband of Kathleen Stack Culver, passed away on Saturday January 26, 2013. He was born on July 26, 1924 in Stowe VT, son of the late Lewis and Myrtle May Culver and was one of seven brothers and sisters. After serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII, he continued his aeronautical training, working at Pratt & Whitney for over 40 years. Never idle, he then spent over 20 “retirement” years preparing tax returns at H & R BLOCK. An avid gardener, Dan spent many happy hours honing the skills he first learned growing up on the family farm. Besides his wife, Dan is survived by his son Richard H. Culver of Collinsville as well as many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Carmela Martel Culver in 1996. An incredibly loving, giving honest man, Dan will be dearly missed by all those who knew and had the opportunity to spend time with him. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Dan’s life will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 10am in the Church of the Assumption, 29 South Adams St., Manchester. Interment will follow the Mass in Hillside Cemetery, Hillside Ave., East Hartford with full military honors. Dan’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Farley-Sullivan Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. To extend online condolences, or for further information, please visit farleysullivan.com
