Obituary for Catherine "Kay" Woods (Stack)

Catherine “Kay” (Stack) Woods, 83, beloved wife of the late Brendan Kevin Woods Sr., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014. Kay was born 1930 in Waterbury, daughter of the late John and Angela (Cahill) Stack. Kay and Brendan had five children and lived in Hartford before moving to Glastonbury in 1995. Prior to her retirement, Kay was employed at the Travelers Insurance Co. for many years. Kay was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by Brendan K. Woods Jr. and his wife Lory of South Glastonbury; Ann “Nancy” O’Hara and her husband Paschal of Glastonbury; Mike Woods of Glastonbury; Cathe Adamo and her husband Michael of South Windsor; and John Woods of South Windsor. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Brendan and Molly Woods; Kate and Patrick O’Hara; Michael, Katherine and Lauren Adamo; and Sean Woods, as well as Sean’s mother, Ivette Rodriquez; her sisters, Mary Ellen O’Connor of Unionville, Betty Rubino of Maryland, Nancy and Peggy Stack of Waterbury; three sisters-in-law, Loretta Stack of Waterbury, Betsy Stack of Ellisville, MO and Nancy Fallon of Ireland; as well as many nieces and nephews in the United States and Ireland. In addition to her husband and parents, Kay was predeceased by her two brothers, Garrett and Jack Stack. Friends and relatives may call on the family Saturday, May 10th from 8:30-9:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. A funeral procession from Farley-Sullivan will commence at 9:30am and proceed to St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St, Glastonbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment will follow the Mass in Holy Cross Cemetery (Section 2), Wickham Rd. at Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The National Kidney Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff at Davita Dialysis, Maple View Manor and Masonicare Hospice for their care and support.
