Obituary for Carol Hurley

Carol  Hurley
Carol M. Hurley, 83, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Mary Home in West Hartford. Carol was born in Hartford on January 2, 1932. Daughter of the late James V. and Mary (Fagan) Hurley, she grew up in Hartford, where she attended St. Augustine’s School and then went on to graduate from Bulkeley High School. She worked for many years at the Travelers Insurance Company, where she was an active member of their Chorale Group. Carol loved to spend her summers at the family cottage, the Fagan House, in Old Colony Beach. Carol enjoyed traveling with her mother and playing Setback.
Carol will be fondly remembered by her family, sisters-in-law, Joanne Hurley of Wethersfield and Kathleen Hurley of Newington, her four nieces, Lynne Boucher and her husband Raymond of Morristown, N.J. Susan Dunn and her husband James of Middletown, Elaine Brewer and her husband James of West Hartford and Patricia Hurley of West Hartford; and her nephew Michael Hurley and his wife Carol of Wethersfield. She will be missed by eleven great nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by brothers, James V. Hurley and Philip D. Hurley as well as her nephews, James V. Hurley and Philip L. Hurley. The family would like to thank all the health care staff at St. Mary Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 10:00am in the Chapel in St. Mary Home 2021 Albany Ave., West Hartford, CT. Friends and relatives may call on the family one hour prior to the Mass from 9-10am in the Reflection Room across the hall from the Chapel. Interment will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield immediately following the Mass. Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield has been entrusted with the services. For online expressions of sympathy or further information, please visit farleysullivan.com.
