Anna Senyk, 91, of Glastonbury, beloved sister, aunt, and great aunt, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Salmon Brook Care Center. Born in Hartford, July 24, 1921, Anna was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Mary (Wojtyna) Senyk; she was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. She was a graduate of Glastonbury High School Class of 1940. Prior to her retirement Anna was employed by the J.B. Williams Silver Co. of Glastonbury for many years, then went on to work for Connecticut Printers of Hartford/Bloomfield in the Accounting Dept. She was a devote parishioner of St. Paul Church, Glastonbury along with being a member of AARP and the Glastonbury Riverfront Senior Center where she was very involved with the Sharing Tree Program. She spent many hours volunteering at Avery Heights, organizing rummage sales in addition to other activities for the benefit of the residents. One of her favorite pass times was bowling. Anna was a tremendous giver, always thinking and doing for others first before herself. She was a pillar of family activities along with being the “World’s Best Nanny”. Anna will be fondly remembered by her loving family; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Peter Senyk of Glastonbury, Paul and Pam Senyk of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ted Glista of Ludlow, MA, Helen and Alfred “Al” DeGemmis Jr. of Glastonbury; many adorned nieces and nephews and cherished great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Anna was predeceased by her sister Josephine. Friends and family may pay their respects to the family on Friday morning, January 25, 2013 from 9:30am – 10:30am at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury, CT 06033. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. The family requests in lieu of flowers, and that memorial donations be made in Anna’s name to Avery Heights, 705 New Britain Ave., Hartford, CT 06106 or the Glastonbury Riverfront Senior Center, 300 Welles St., Glastonbury, CT 06033.
