Ann O’Donnell McCarthy, 57, lifelong resident of Hartford, beloved mother of Kevin McCarthy and Dawn McCarthy Kennelly, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 24, 2012. She was born in Hartford, the daughter of Catherine O’Donnell and the late Thomas O’Donnell. Ann was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, and worked for Crawley & Associates and Dunham-Bush for many years. She was a longtime member of the Irish-American Home and Society and was an avid football fan. In addition to her children Kevin and Dawn, her son-in-law, John Kennelly, and her mother, Catherine, Ann leaves behind her two precious grandchildren, Brody and Ella. These young ones brought her incredible joy and were truly the light in Ann's eyes. With heavy hearts and great sadness, Ann will be missed by her two sisters, Marian Franklin and her husband, Wayne; Lisa O’Donnell and Don Tuttle, all of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Maura O’Donnell; five nephews, Aaron, Neil, Liam, Colin, and Connor. Along with her father, Ann was predeceased by her brother Tommy O’Donnell. Friends and relatives may pay their respects Thursday, June 28th, from 4-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Ann’s life will be held Friday, June 29th at 11am in St. Augustine Church,10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. All attendees are asked to go directly to church.
