Gordon A. "Bigboy"  Pollard Jr.
Gordon “Bigboy” A. Pollard Jr., 60, of South Windsor, passed away on Sunday November 15, 2015 in St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford on December 14, 1954, he was the son of Mae Pollard and the late Gordon A. Pollard Sr.. Gordon Jr. worked for many years as a mechanic and truck driver, retired from A.D. Fence in Berlin and was a member of The Teamsters Local 559. Along with his mother Mae Pollard, he leaves his daughter, Heidi (Pollard) Orr and her husband Robert of Tolland, his two sons, Gordon A. Pollard III and his wife Elizabeth of Windsor and Zachary Ryan Pollard of Manchester and three grandchildren, Gannon, Emily and Lilith. He also leaves his brother, Joseph Pollard of Bolton, three sisters, Mae Johnson of Kensington, Joanne Corcoran of Mansfield and Tammy Coffey of Cromwell, nieces, Jenny, Cari and Katie and nephew Billy. In addition to his father, Big was predeceased by his two brothers, Steven and Charles Pollard.
Gordon’s family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 11am to 12noon at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury, followed by a service in the funeral home at 12noon. Interment will follow the service in Old Church Cemetery, Main St. Glastonbury.
