Obituary for Kenneth N. "Ken" Senerth

Kenneth N. "Ken"  Senerth
Kenneth N. Senerth, 87, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of 65 years to Bernadette (Rohde) Senerth, passed away Wednesday December 14, 2016 at home. Ken was born April 24, 1929 in Whitaker, PA. , son of the late Ida (Redshaw) Senerth. Ken and his brothers Henry and the late George moved to East Hartford as children. Ken graduated from East Hartford High Class of 1947 where he was a Guard for the school basketball team. He joined the 103rd Air Force Reserve Squadron, stationed at Bradley Field then became activated and was sent to McGuire Air Force Base. Prior to his retirement, Ken was employed by the Travelers Insurance Co. for 43 years retiring in 1991; and was a member of the Travelers Men’s Club. He was an avid Whaler and UConn Men’s Basketball fan. Ken enjoyed playing cards with his family, especially setback and loved to discuss finances and politics. Along with his wife Bernie, Ken leaves a brother Henry of Zephyrhills, FL; four sons and a daughter, Ken and Diane Senerth of Delaware, Mark and Susan Senerth of West Hartford, Frank and Julie Senerth of South Windsor, Joe and Pamela Senerth of Colchester and Mary and Mark Keegan of East Hartford; as well as nine adored grandchildren, Emily, Julia, Mark, Amy, Jim, Jeffrey, Douglas, Olivia and Ian; two cherished great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Noah ; and Mary’s little dogs too, Dawson and Bailey. Above all else, Ken was a generous family man. We will all miss the holiday get togethers, many cook outs and card games.
Friends may call on the Senerth family Monday December 19, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave. Glastonbury. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 20th, commencing at 9:15 from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow the Mass in Green Cemetery, 77 Hubbard St. Glastonbury. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Christopher School, 570 Brewer St., East Hartford, CT 06118.
