Joseph “Joe” Calafiore, 87, of Hartford, beloved husband of Anna (Giustiniano) Calafiore, peacefully passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Joseph was born October 10, 1928 in Solarino, Sicily, Italy, son of the late Salvatore and Salvatrice (Gallo) Calafiore. He immigrated to America residing in Hartford. He was a self employed stone mason. Along with his wife Anna, Joe will be dearly missed and remembered by his loving family, two sons and daughters-in-law, Salvatore J. and Paula Calafiore, Joseph A. and Nina Calafiore; a daughter and son-in-law, Bea and Gregory Goddard, all of Wethersfield; seven adored grandchildren, Sal Calafiore, Joseph Calafiore, Gregory Goddard, Dante Goddard, Chianna Calafiore, Stephania Calafiore and Joseph Calafiore; two brothers, three sisters; as well as several nieces and nephews. Joe’s family will receive family and friends Tuesday morning, October 11, 2016 from 9:30-10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Joe’s life will be 11am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Interment will follow the Mass in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 28), 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. To extend online condolences and/or share a memory, please visit farleysullivan.com.
