Obituary for William V. Carbone

William V.  Carbone
William V. Carbone, 86 husband of Margaret (Sheehy) Carbone of Rocky Hill, passed away June 10, 2016 in Hartford Hospital with his family at his side. He was born in Torrington, son of the late Vito and Beatrice (Colangelo) Carbone and lived in the area most of his life. Bill was a graduate of Torrington High School after which he enlisted in the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He then worked for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, retiring as a Superintendant of Maintenance. Bill went on to work at St. Augustine Church, Sacred Heart Church, Wethersfield, Manny’s Auto Parts and the Glastonbury Police Department. He also volunteered at the Irish American Home Society for their large functions, and served as an Usher at St. James Church for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 123, Rocky Hill and President of the Homeowners Association. We would like to extend many thanks to the residents, staff and management of the Atrium and the Lodge of Rocky Hill as well as the St. Paul Lutheran Church for their friendship and care to Bill.
Besides his wife, Bill leaves his three daughters, Beatrice Swanson and her husband John, Valerie Carbone and her husband Scott Malcolm and Patricia Hegland and her husband Thomas, all of FL, a brother Anthony Carbone of Torrington and a sister, Angela Smith of FL. He also will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Cristina and her husband Chris, Chelsea, Brooke and her husband Wes, Nichole, Ashley and T.J., his great grandson, CJ and one newly born great grandson, his nieces Paula Blass of Torrington and Theresa McEneaney of Ireland, his great nephew Derek McEneaney, of Ireland and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield. The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:15 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, in St. James Church, 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. To extend online condolences, please visit Farleysullivan.com.
