Mary (Lysak) Smith, 82, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Harry E. Smith, passed away peacefully on Friday, (May 6, 2016). She was born in Uzhorod, Ukraine on April 28, 1934 to the late Joseph and Anna (Jacko) Lysak. In 1936 they moved to Hanover, Germany where they stayed until 1950 before coming to the United States. She will also be dearly missed by her three children and their spouses, Kristine (Kaluk) Meinert and her husband Richard, Irene (Kaluk) Cistulli and her finacé Scott Rossignol, and Terrance Kaluk. She also will be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Alex, Mary, Nick, Julia, Kathryn, Rosemary, Maria, Patricia, Nicole, and Stephanie, and her three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her son Terrance’s companion of 16 years, Tamara Tessier. The family wishes to thank Leisa Tremblay of Masonic Health Care for the wonderful care and compassion given to Mary at her home. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. with a Panahyda service beginning at 7 p.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, CT 06033. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT followed by interment services in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, New London Tpke, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in Mary’s memory be made to Saint John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 26 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
