Obituary for Joyce Beland
Joyce Beland, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully Saturday April 23,
2016 at Evergreen Healthcare Center, Stafford Springs. She was born on
June 3, 1946, in Fort Kent, ME. and was the daughter of the late Roger and
Cora (Doustou) Beland. Joyce was educated in the Glastonbury schools and graduated from Glastonbury High School. Prior to her retirement, she was an Insurance Clerk at Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company. Joyce was a communicant of St. Paul Church, Glastonbury. Joyce will be remembered by the staff at Evergreen for her sense of humor and positive attitude and especially for her love of Connie Francis’s music. Joyce leaves her brother Donald Beland and his wife Nancy of Storrs and their son Griffin Beland; and her brother Patrick Beland and his wife Alice of NY. Joyce also leaves her very special friend, John Murray of Glastonbury, who visited her regularly and offered his friendship and support for many years. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Evergreen Healthcare for the years of devoted care, commitment and affection they provided to Joyce at her “second” home. There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the family’s convenience. Memorial donations in Joyce’s name can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, NY, NY, 10163.
