Cynthia Adele (Rowe) D’Andrea, 87, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Jean E. D’Andrea, peacefully passed away, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Cynthia was born November 10, 1928 and raised in the Flushing/Queens Borough area of New York, daughter of the late Milo and Adele (Hacthel) Rowe. She spent most of her married life on Long Island, where she was a self-employed manufacturer’s rep and owner/operator of Arden Gift Shop in Wantagh, NY with her husband Jean, prior to relocating to North Carolina and then to Glastonbury. Along with her husband Jean, Cynthia will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, a son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Linda D’Andrea of Babylon, L.I.N.Y.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori J. D’Andrea of Coventry, Leslie A. and Shaun O’Rourke of Glastonbury; four adorned grandchildren, Lyndsay and Craig D’Andrea of Babylon, L.I.N.Y., Tess and Connor O’Rourke of Glastonbury; a sister, Doris Bennett of Little Rock, AK; and a niece Dianne Fried and her husband Kenneth, of Kingston, NY. In addition to her parents, Cynthia was predeceased by her sister Arlene “Binkie” Franke. Longtime members of Christ Lutheran Church in Wantagh, NY, Jean and Cynthia became active members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Southern Pines, NC, the Sandhills Animal Rescue League, NC and Cynthia was an active volunteer at Robbins Elementary School, NC. A memorial service will be held at a date in the future. Cynthia’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave. Glastonbury.
