Edwina (Verrillo) Curtis, 79, longtime resident of Glastonbury, loving mother, grandmother, sister and companion, peacefully passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Edwina was born in New York, NY, March 9, 1937, daughter to the late Louis M. and Helen (Gill) Verrillo. Her family moved to Hartford when she was an infant, where she lived until moving to Glastonbury in 1941. She attended Glastonbury Schools, graduating from Glastonbury High, and then attended Colby College for two years. She was employed at Pratt & Whitney for many years, and then later went on to work at Love Printing for the last 30 years. Edwina was a member and faithful communicant of St. Paul Church, Glastonbury, a devoted member of the Glastonbury Republican Town Committee, dedicating her time to the charitable events sponsored by the club. She was a member and Past President of the Junior Women’s Club of Glastonbury. In addition, she was a “Fashionista” who loved life and shopping QVC and continues to receive packages to this day. Edwina was the rock who kept the family strong and the super glue who kept the family together. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, a son, Jonathan “Jon” Curtis and Jennifer Sauvé, of Enfield; two daughters, Melissa Curtis of Canton, Ellen White and her husband Mark, of Glastonbury; two brothers, Lewis Verrillo of Portland, ME, Gil Verrillo and his companion Shirley Slahetka, of Florence, MA; a sister Elaine Bordi and her husband John, of Mesa, AZ; three adored grandchildren, Ryan White, Erin Casavant and her husband, Ben, and Kailey White; as well as her companion of 33 years, Thomas “Tom” Love of Glastonbury. In addition to her parents, Edwina was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Patricia “Pat” Verrillo. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Edwina and her family Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 5-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. Funeral procession will form at Farley-Sullivan, Friday, April 22nd at 9:45am and then will proceed to St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury for an 11am Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Edwina’s life.
