Gail (Lamoureux) Sampson, 73, of Wethersfield, loving wife of the late John F. Sampson, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. Daughter of the late Edmund and Catherine (Crowley) Lamoureux, Gail was born in Hartford November 9, 1942. She was a graduate of Hartford High School, Class of 1960. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years with the Travelers Insurance Co. She was a longtime Parishioner of St. Augustine Church, Hartford and was a member of the Hartford Chapter of the Women of the Moose. Gail will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her cherished family; her son, John F. Sampson Jr.; her daughter Catherine Sampson and her significant other, Mark Fantone, all of Wethersfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Ralph Anselmo of West Hartford; two adored grandchildren, John F. Sampson III, Caitlyn Sampson, and their mother Cindy, all of Newington; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins and nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Saturday morning, December 26, 2015 from 9:30-10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Gail’s life will be held at 11am in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Gail will be interred next to John in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 27), 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
