Obituary for John Henry Bannon

John Henry Bannon
John Henry Bannon 50, beloved son of Frederick and Elvera (Colonna) Bannon of Wethersfield passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Florida on December 6, 2014.
John was born and lived most of his life in Wethersfield. His bigger than life stature and personality made him a formidable opponent in the many sports he participated in, both in school and into adulthood. Especially as a goalie in soccer where he was nearly impossible to score against, having entire seasons where he let up less than 5 goals. John was a “jack of all trades, master of many”. He really could do anything he set his mind to. Most of all he loved working with his dad (his real life super-hero) in his painting business. John realized his dream of moving to Florida, where he started his own business. He was proud to have recently earned his Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Training and Certification from the University of Florida. Best of all he was a season ticket holder to his lifelong favorite Miami Dolphins. John will certainly be remembered for his outrageous sense of humor, his animated story telling and his passion for living life to the fullest. If you met John, you remembered John. John was the baby of the “Bannon bunch”. Along with his parents, John leaves a huge void in the lives of his brothers, Frederick (Maria) Bannon, Jr. of Marin County CA, Jeff (Terri) Bannon of Salem VA; his sisters, Lillian (Joe) Farinella of South Windsor, Loretta (Chris) Piper-Harvey of Rocky Hill. He was extremely proud to be Uncle John to his nephews Paul (Kimberly) Farinella, Justin (Christa) Piper, John and Steven Bannon; his nieces Jennifer (Shawn) Farmer, and Leah Harvey; as well as his six great-nieces Mary Rose, Julia, Ana, Addison, Emma and Lyla. John was also a friend of Bill W and will be greatly missed by the many friends in the fellowship. Please join us in a celebration of John’s life Thursday September 17, 2015 from 5-7pm at Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield CT.
